Elf Names
Elf names built on open vowels and liquid consonants — first names, surnames and flowing combinations in the high-fantasy register.
Optional: type a word that matters to you — half the batch will be built around it.
How to use this page
Generate two or three batches before judging — the first is rarely the best. Read the survivors aloud once; anything a tablemate cannot repeat back is out. For a bloodline or a warband, lock the custom word field to the same root syllable and generate per character: shared sounds read as shared blood, and the batch becomes a family tree.
The sound of elvish
Elvish reads as liquid: “Aelwyn”, “Isolde”, “Thalorin”. Open vowels, l/r/m consonants, endings in -wen, -iel, -orin. The generator’s elvish pool encodes exactly those phonetics — and refuses the hard clusters that break the illusion.
Lineages and surnames
Elf surnames compound nature and lineage — “Moonwhisper”, “Silverbrook”. Type the character’s homeland trait (“sea”, “moon”, “thorn”) into the custom field and the generator builds surnames around it; one root syllable across siblings reads as a bloodline.
