Orc Names
Orc names with the guttural weight the horde expects — short, punchy, and honest about the syllable budget of a warband.
Optional: type a word that matters to you — half the batch will be built around it.
How to use this page
Generate two or three batches before judging — the first is rarely the best. Read the survivors aloud once; anything a tablemate cannot repeat back is out. For a bloodline or a warband, lock the custom word field to the same root syllable and generate per character: shared sounds read as shared blood, and the batch becomes a family tree.
Punchy by design
Orc names hit: “Grok”, “Uzgash”, “Mhorgh”. Front-stressed, guttural, one to two beats — a name shouted across a battlefield must survive the shout. The pool favors open vowels and throat consonants while avoiding unpronounceable clusters.
Warband titles double the name
Orcs earn epithets: “the Unbroken”, “Bonechewer”, “Two-Spears”. Generate a base name, then type the character’s signature feat into the custom field — the generator pairs titles that read like a war record.
Frequently asked questions
Can orc names be honorable?
Yes — the modern orc spans scholars and chieftains. Generate; keep the gravitas the character has earned.
