Dragon Names
Dragon names sized for legions and legends — rolling, thunderous, with epithets that fit on a map and in a prophecy.
Optional: type a word that matters to you — half the batch will be built around it.
How to use this page
Generate two or three batches before judging — the first is rarely the best. Read the survivors aloud once; anything a tablemate cannot repeat back is out. For a bloodline or a warband, lock the custom word field to the same root syllable and generate per character: shared sounds read as shared blood, and the batch becomes a family tree.
Thunder syllables
Dragon names roll: “Auraxathar”, “Vyrmith”, “Kaladrax”. Long vowels carry the roar; sibilants and x/z add scale. The pool balances epic length with table-sayability — a name a DM can read aloud twice without stumbling.
Epithets do the world-building
“The Ash-Tongued”, “Warden of the Deep Flies” — dragon epithets carry lore. Type the dragon’s domain (fire, storm, gold, sea) into the custom field and the generator pairs epithets that sound prophesied.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a dragon name be?
Sayable in one breath — two to four syllables for spoken use, with the epithet carrying the rest of the legend.
